In plain English, I went shopping. There was necessity buy and there was impulse buy (I am, after all, only a woman). Till last year this was called ‘retail therapy’. Not that it necessarily had negative conotation but you didn’t actually want to be caught engaged in this particular therapeutic activity too often. Now we are encouraged to do it. Price cuts, sales not an effort is spared in order to make you part with your money. Buying some stuff that I didn’t really need could help the nation get over this bloody credit crunch sooner.
Can’t wait to see how the post-credit crunch vocabulary will develop and how it will influence our habits (spending or otherwise).
